Weekly Homework Expectations for KS2 Children (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6).
Read 3 x weekly (more is always encouraged please) – Reading diaries to be signed to earn 10 minutes of Golden Time.
TT Rockstars – The expectation is either to complete 3 x 3 minute sessions or 9 x 1 minute sessions over the course of the week. Please complete the Garage sessions, the algorithm will tailor a plan to your childs' specific needs by testing all tables at the start then refining the more you play.
Reading Diaries and TT Rockstars will be checked on Thursdays.

Golden time will now be on a Thursday afternoon, children will earn 10 minutes by reading three times and another 10 minutes by spending nine minutes on TT Rockstars each week prior.

English
We will begin our English this term by reading our new class book (Pugs of the frozen north). We will then immerse ourselves in the story by acting out scenes and hot seating certain characters. We will then use this to write our own persuasive letters!.
Maths
In Maths this term, we will be covering fractions and mass and capacity. This will consist of the children learning up how order, compare add and subtract fractions, then moving to using tenths and hundreds (year 3's describing mass and capacity).
History/Geography
Our Geography topic this half term is a frozen world! We will be comparing the Arctic and Antarctic regions, discussing their climates and exploring the effects of climate change on both regions.
Science
Our next science topic this term is plants. We will be exploring the functions of plants, how they grow and their lifecycles. Alongside this we will also be investigating the way in which water is transported through them.
